The Rape Unit provides for the immediate needs of rape victims for privacy and professional care, as well as aid in the healing process by providing nurses who are responsive to the feelings of rape victims.
Space has been renovated at Flagler Hospital for the New Rape Crisis Unit so that rape victims can be examined in a private setting.

The Betty Griffin House Sexual Assault Recovery Program preserves the victim's dignity and reduces the psychological trauma by offering improved, quality medical service to victims of sexual assault whether they want to report to law enforcement or not and regardless of their ability to pay.
Victims are examined by Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners who are trained in the forensic collection of evidence and understanding victimization issues while providing compassionate medical care.
Obtaining safe, secure, private medical and forensic examinations is vital to the well-being of rape victim
Assuring Recovery
Victims who seek services after the rape, report symptoms from the trauma that often affect their ability to work, attend school, and handle daily functions.
It is our hope that by providing a private, sensitive environment for rape exams, these symptoms can be addressed and therefore reduced.
Victims have the opportunity to speak with an advocate and access an array of services offered in the community.
Available to all adult victims of sexual assault 18 and over in St. Johns County. Betty Griffin House and Law Enforcement Victim Advocates available Services available regardless of desire to report to Law Enforcement or not. A waiting area for family, interview rooms, restroom, shower, change of clothes, and toiletries are available. Referral to Betty Griffin House services available.
